Bree Hughes boasts over 20 years of unparalleled experience in the art market, providing expert advice and consultation to private clients, artist estates, and trusts. Her extensive track record includes successful sales to collectors and museums globally. Specializing in Fine Art, her post-graduate education encompasses furniture, porcelain, Old Masters, and Contemporary works of Art. Commencing her career at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in 2001, she later joined Sotheby's in 2006, significantly expanding her knowledge of the secondary market. In 2013, she assumed the role of Specialist at Artnet in New York City, where she spearheaded global art market research and pioneered online auctions. During her tenure, she curated numerous auctions and facilitated sales to institutions for private clients, including prestigious works by Robert Mapplethorpe, Keith Haring, and Thomas Demand. Transitioning to John Moran Auctioneers in Southern California in 2019, Bree excelled as the Head of 20th Century Fine Art, overseeing authentications, appraisals, and record-breaking sales for renowned artists such as Alexander Calder, Banksy, Picasso, and Edward Ruscha. In 2019, she established her own business as a Private Dealer, Art Advisory, and Consultant, effectively managing the sales and authentication of significant art pieces, ranging from photographs from the Dusseldorf School to Post War Contemporary paintings.
